#Uri:TheSurgicalStrike is packed with deadly action sequences with thrilling narration.
Movie Review:#Uri:TheSurgicalStrike is based on the true story of the surgical strike which was carried out by the Indian armed forces in the September 2016 Uri attack. From there the story follows #MajorVihaanShergill(VickyKaushal), who seeks retirement owing to his mother's ill health as she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.#Vihaan’s childhood friend and brother-in-law Captain #KaranKashyap(Mohit Raina) along with some other fellow army mates are martyred in this attack.#Vihaan is forced back by emotions to extract revenge by leading the strike force.#Vihaan puts together a team to conduct the surgical strike under the guidance of PMO bigwig #GovindBhardwaj(PareshRawal) with special orders from #PM(RajitKapur) himself. Special Agent #Pallavi(YamiGautam) helps #Vihaan to detect the location of the launch pads and details of the target.Written and Directed by #AdityaDhar, Uri:TheSurgicalStrike,is based on a true life covert military operation.#Uri manages to grip viewers with a storytelling that inspires and entertains at the same time. For a first time feature film director, #AdityaDhar has done well in keeping the on screen proceedings tight and twist. Director has managed to imbibe the essence of the film being an edge of the seat, gritty action thriller that keeps the audience gripped. While the first half of the film sets up the premise and details the story of the film, the second half is totally dedicated to the actual strike and action sequences. As far was the writing goes, while the first half is a balanced mix of story, drama, emotions along with action, the second half is absolutely dedicated to action. But since the incident is based on real life, Indian audiences already have that angst against what occurred in #Uri, and hence this flaw in the script gets covered up when the action scenes showing attack on the terrorist launch pads in #Pakistan begins. #VickyKaushal has slowly yet steadily built up an ardent fan following. This time too #Vicky doesn’t disappoint as his performance in #URI is spot on. His mannerisms as an officer from the armed forces who is solely focussed on one goal are bang on. His bravado performance and rigorous training to get into the role reflects on screen.#YamiGautam as Pallavi/Jasmine is severely underutilized as a special agent.#KirtiKulhari as #SeeratKaur too is slotted in a minimalistic role. #PareshRawal as GovindBhardwaj, #MohitRaina as MajorKaranKashyap, #YogeshSoman as RavinderAgnihotri, and #RajitKapur as PMNarendraModi have done well in their given roles. Music of #ShashwatSachdev there is not much to expect.the Background Score of #ShashwatSachdev is done well, and helps build the crescendo during climactic sequences. Action sequences are very well choreographed and form the backbone of this film.Cinematographer #MiteshMirchandani does a good job, especially during the action sequences. The editing by #ShivkumarPanicker is crisp and keeps the film pacy.
Overall, Uri:TheSurgicalStrike is rolled with action sequences with thrilling narration.
